Soul Tower Hamlets produced a statement performance on the road, dismantling Romford with a commanding 8–0 victory to continue their impressive run of form. From the first whistle, Hamlets were in control, calm in possession, ruthless on the counter, and relentless in their press. The tone was set early when Sherman went close inside the opening minute, forcing Romford’s keeper into action before Dillon struck the bar moments later. It didn’t take long for the breakthrough to arrive.
On 21 minutes, Rian, back in the starting XI, tapped home from Nick’s low cross after a typically incisive pass from Steve, who was once again puling the strings in midfield. The same combination struck again just minutes later, with Rian finding space on the edge of the box and lifting a superb effort over the keeper for 2–0. Hamlets were purring by this stage.
The back line, led by skipper Ashaan, marshalled everything Romford threw forward, while Samir and Kevin dictated the tempo in midfield. The third goal arrived in the 39th minute, Samir calmly slotting home after a clever through ball from Ashaan. Moments before the interval, Hamlets extended their advantage when Rian was brought down inside the box, and Steve made no mistake from the spot to make it four before halftime. The second half started just as explosively.
Substitute Shomari made an instant impact, scoring within seconds of coming on with a cool finish at the far post. Samir added his second soon after with a curling free kick that left the keeper rooted. Romford had few answers to Hamlets’ pace and precision. Salim made it seven after another devastating counter-attack, before substitute Talor rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot in stoppage time, after Steven’s free kick was handled in the wal. It was a complete team display, clinical, composed, and ful of confidence, with goals spread across the pitch and energy in every department.
