WELLING TOWN FC 3-4 SOUL THFC

Our first game of the season ended with a win late on in stoppage time.

A breath taking encounter saw SOUL THFC win our first game of the season. Welling Town opened the game on top, forcing an early cross which was put into the back of the net by Jordan Samuels beating Louie to ball, But no sooner had they done that, they found themselves behind within 15min of scoring. Casey's long ball into the box was met with Timo's head to make it 1-1, Casey then smashed in the second for SOUL THFC firing past the keeper who had very little chance at saving that.

Shareef Ali (our Bengali Neymar) twisted and turned his full back beating his man with ease and then forcing the keeper into tripping him, a penalty was awarded. Timo then despatched the penalty to make it 3-1 to SOUL before Half-time.

Second half Welling Town started as they did in the first, dominating the first period hitting the bar and the post. 73 minutes into the game welling town pulled one back with Abdulahmed Oladimeji tapping in from the back post.

Another error in the middle saw Welling Town level the scoring as a cross into the box was met by Igor in the front post scoring an own goal with our keeper rooted.

With 12mins stoppage added to the clock, Joao Cruz met Mackenzie's cross which the keeper fumbled and ended up in the back of the net. We was then wrongfully disallowed a clear penalty on the 98th minute.

But the boys saw out the win with little fuss in the minutes that remained, giving manager Terry Thomas his first win.
