Club History

Tower Hamlets Football Club, based in London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The community club is registered as a company limited by guarantee. The club was granted senior status after winning the Middlesex County league's Premier Division in 2009, and were promoted to the Essex Senior League. At the end of the 2019-20 season, Tower Hamlets FC were transferred to the Premier Division of the Southern Counties East League after moving to Phoenix Sports ground in Barnehurst from the Mile End Stadium.

In 2021-22 season Tower Hamlets FC finished at the bottom of the league and was relegated to step 6 and is currently members of the Thurlownunn League first division of the national league system and playing back at the Mile End Stadium. ​

Up until July 2013 the club was renamed from Bethnal Green United, established in year 2000 by Mohammed Nurul Hoque and Akhtar Ahmed as a community club. The club played in several leagues, including the Canary Wharf Summer League, the Inner London Football League and the London Intermediate League, before joining the Middlesex County League and promoted to Essex Senior League in 2009.

​ Tower Hamlets FC reached the first round qualifiers in the FA Cup in 2009-2010 and fifth round in the FA Vase in 2011-2012, as well as winning the Middlesex County League and Cup and winning both cups operated by the Essex Senior League, beating Burnham Ramblers 4–1 in the final of the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy in 2009-10 season. ​

 

Tower Hamlets FC now aims to deliver other project for the footballing community, such as asian in football, stadium match experience and tours, football courses and training, primary schools football competitions, football media, jobs in the football industry and fundraising for clubs.
